Hi All

It's been an interesting week - I am currently discussing the possibility of using the clown in conjunction with a top London photographer on a really interesting project. I can't say too much about it at the moment as we are still in discussion and nothing has been confirmed, but if it happens then I think it will be really exciting.

Still no news on the launch of my new website but Kevin my web designer assures me we're almost there. So fingers crossed it won't be too long now.

On the work front I have recently been working back in Hinckley at Reflex @ Club LE10 (The Bounty - Alley Cat's) If you know my history you will know it's my spiritual home. Working with KT is always a pleasure.

As always hope to see you on the road somewhere - please come up & say hello - take care.

Hi All :-)

Its been a manic few weeks - First St Patricks weekend - Then St Patricks day itself, followed by the Six Nations Rugby final (Ireland won) so working as a Dj in an Irish bar its been one hell of a week. Then today (Tues 24th) I was filming in Stoke on Trent - This was the final day of filming which is for a documentary on being a clown - I was aked to take part and did a two hour interview on camera a few weeks ago - Then today I was in a studio doing some performance stuff - and was in costume. It goes to editing now so we'll see what becomes of that.

Still waiting on my new web site - www.robertbowker.co.uk its taking forever to get it launched.

Also managed through the kindness of a good friend to get some VIP tickets for U2 in Poland this August so that should be Amazing - I was at the same stadium last June to see the Police and was very lucky to meet up with Sting and the band - so fingers crossed for U2.

Next few weeks are going to be busy - hope to catch up with you all soon.

The Angel In Blue

Hi all - I really am facinated by Karma at the moment. I really believe if you do good things then good things happen to you. Last Saturday I went to donate blood as usual. Whilst there I had a beautiful encounter this was the result.

Angel In Blue

She stands staring out into space
She tells her story with such grace
But the pains written across her heart
She was a babe in arms then torn apart

Is she still loved do they still care
Was it embarrasment or maybe despair
What are they thinking about her now
She needs to know some day somehow

So many questions she wants to ask
So many years have drifted past
And what became of her brother
Was it as painful for her mother

Hurting inside never knowing
The angel in blue keeps on going
Never forgetting from where she came
Hoping one day to heal her own pain
NOTE
This is a beautiful but tragic true story. Last Saturday I went to donate blood as usual. The nurse that was taking my blood was was chatting away happily until I mentioned I was in the process of fostering a little boy. She suddenly stopped and was staring into space as she relayed her moving story. She had been adopted at birth, She had a brother she had never met, yet wanted desperatly to do so. She loved her adoption parents with all her heart and to her they would always be her parents. But there was a burning desire to know, to have answers, why? Do they think about her now? Does her brother know she exists? In That moment in time both her world & mine stood still as she rlayed to me her moving life story. I went away feeling privaliged that she had shared those feelings with me. I have tried here to translate that encounter onto paper.

Sneek preview

As a little taster of the new web site I am letting you see one of my poems hope you like it.

Chide the Heart

Chide the heart for its fateful part
In this dissolution
This course of confusion

To get so close
To think you've won
To see your world so quickly spun

What you thought you had
You now see lost
Lie awake and count the cost

Love leaves fast
If the heart dies young
Love is a song that needs to be sung

NOTE:

Arrr sweet love and how it leads us all at some point into a false sense of security. This is basically that love is not a thing you can hold; it’s more of an action. And actions mean doing and re-doing because if you stop then love dies. And normally when love dies you’re always the last to know. Seems the whole world can see it coming but you. So Love is a song that needs to be sung means really if you want to stay in love you have to keep doing loving things. Obvious really but how many of us at some point break that golden rule.

Subnote:

I love words and kept coming across the word chide. I first heard it in the middle of a Deacon Blue song “Bethlehem’s Gate” (Very good indeed) then lots of my friends use the word chief when greeting each other or during conversation. Quite often I will start a text message to a mate with “hello Chief” but if you spell Chief wrong when rushing on a text message with a predictive text phone it offers up the word “chide”. I became fascinated with the word and looked it up in the dictionary and it means to blame. I loved the word that much that I started this poem hell bent on getting the word “chide” in somewhere but I think it works quite well. My god how pathetically sad am I?
